SEEKING OBSCURE is the mutant result from the determination and unrelenting drive put forth by self proclaimed metal enthusiast Rob Luckie. Spawned in the middle part of November, 2005, the one man death metal machine refuses to give up, regardless of the unfortunate lack of suitable musicians in his home town of Sheridan, Wyoming.

Inspired by so many different metal acts, SEEKING OBSCURE didn't want to be limited to one musical/genre styling, so as its name implies, Rob was "seeking" for a vehicle to facilitate his need to combine all those elements into one uncompromising sound!

"Since I like such a wide variety of metal music , I didn't want to overlook any one style that has influenced me over the years!" explains the 6 string bassist turned multi-instrumentalist. " I wanted SEEKING OBSCURE to be the cauldron to which I threw in everything from KISS, JUDAS PRIEST, EXODUS, KREATOR , and adding my love of bands like DEATH, CANCER, BOLT THROWER, SUFFOCATION & CANNIBAL CORPSE ect .. (The list goes on and on), yet put my own signature stamp on it all."

Rob has performed all the instruments (bass, drums, keyboard & rhythm guitars) along with vocal duties for both the 2006 split CD with UNBURIED,and the newly released full length. As he has wanted to do for many years, he invited the jaw dropping talents of guitar virtuoso & long time friend, TOBY KNAPP (WAXEN, ex-DARKEN, ex-ONWARD) to supply some killer guest lead work on the tracks "That Which Dwells Within", the CANCER classic "Die, Die" and the brutal standout track "Seduced By Darkness" from the new 2007 release.

SEEKING OBSCURE will strive to create memorable, solid death metal that without question, will supply the listener with a plethora of head banging rage!!..... In an effort to bringing back the days when you put in a CD to just simply thrash to!! From technical riff work, to strait up crushing old school death metal, SEEKING OBSCURE is on a mission to make its mark on the world and legacy that is DEATH METAL!!!
